Sunday Burrrrrr's.....

Well everyone has to participate in the holiday spirit especially after receiving his new coiff! Jake is pretty proud of his new outfit and coiff. His shirt is actually a hoodie.
Max being the old man, he'll be 10 years old on Monday, can leave or take the new outfit. I couldn't resist these outfits. I'm not one for dressing animals, usually, but these were just to cute.

I've been doing my usual sleep pattern. Fall asleep on the couch at 9 and wake up in bed between 4 and 5 a.m. Last night was no different and as usual without the aid of an alarm clock I was up bright and early. Took Max out for his morning sniff around the yard and BOY! was it cold (15*). Jump ahead a few hours and I realize that it really is dark out for 7 o'clock. I climb off the couch, much to Max's disapproval of his body warmer taking off without him and look out the window. No wonder its still dark! Don't know how long this is going to last, but I think its quite nice. We're headed off to the cabin today to see if Santa is in for a quick visit. Just seems appropriate that we should have to get to the Jolly man's place by walking through the snow for this visit. Check back later for pics of our visit!
I had to put the socks away for a couple of days to complete another project that someone in my house is going to go ga-ga over come Christmas morning. I've been working on it for weeks, it was one of my car projects, and I suddenly realized that Christmas is just a couple of weeks away and I still had 1/3 of it to still do. So I spent hours over the last couple of days hiding and working whenever I could. Unbelievably, I finished it. I love having projects completed in time and now its time to get these socks done and mailed off before I leave town on Wednesday, if at all possible. My last gift to have finished in time.
When I complete these socks all of my projects will be done. I'll have nothing planned to do. No socks, no gloves, no sweaters. I'm starting to get worried. Jittery. Almost like a caffeine withdrawal.
Oh, Suzanne, just look over at the fireplace hearth. There sit all your yarn and goodies in wonderful plastic containers to keep it all clean and neat. Just walk over and sit down, look over all you have and rest assured that in those boxes are lots of unrealized ideas and dreams of wonderfully wooly things to cuddle up with.
O.k. o.k. yeah.
I'm o.k. now.

Weekends over ~

Well we were right. Olivia was on the road to being extremely ill. So fortunately for us we have a sympathetic doctor who like us is tired of seeing us in her office. She prescribed meds for everyone! So the happy bunch that we are... we're taking our meds without a grimace or groan.
Kristina is such a good organizer. (Wish her room was always as wonderful) I asked her to organize our pantry and actually move all the canned and jar items into another closet that we're converting partly to a pantry. Just to much food for one small pantry.
After 3 attempts at a wonderful design for a sock this is what I came up with. I love it. Unfortunately the colors don't pop in this picture like they do in person. This is the ribbing and the ankle. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with the heel and foot, if anything.
Camera out, its picture time as far as these hams are concerned. Hunter just wanted to make sure that Sponge Bob was in the picture.
Today was THE day to do the outside lights. For the last couple of years we've neglected doing them. Dad and the kids all enjoyed stringing the lights from bush to bush and tree to tree. What a nice display they made. As soon as it was dark everyone was outside checking out their work.
