A couple of days before Halloween we had this wonderful harvest moon hanging low over the city and I just couldn't resist attempting to take a picture.
This year we re-used costumes with the kids blessings. Normally we purchase costumes to the tune of about $30 a piece, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it this year with a closet full of still wearable costumes. Fortunately for me the kids are still excited about their particular characters and didn't mind re-doing them for another year. I've talked all year about how we weren't doing full costumes this year as we always have to cover them up with heavy coats on Halloween and the kids were fully prepared to just decorate up their heads for the evening. But of course the weather has changed and with it the need to wear a heavy coat went out the door. So we trick or treated in 50ish degree temps with no jackets! So with that..... Parker was an aging Ninja.
Hunter an aging Wolverine from X-Men.
Jolie utilized one of her ruby red slippers pairs that she got for her birthday and a costume that was given to her by a friend, to become Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.
Olivia did her own thing this year and quietly transformed into a Vampire Bunny, much to Kristina's chagrins. (inside joke) Olivia won her class best costume prize.
I've been diligently working on Christmas presents during the day and at night when all the kids are home I've worked on stuff for myself. Here is a new pair of socks! Bright and eye catching....... to say the least. I love 'em!
My first beaded project, completed. Once you get moving it really goes quickly. The colors are all wonderful fall colors with roses and purples thrown in. Just yummy. Right now I have the scarf hanging from the bed post under my cowboy hat. Actually looks really good. So I may use it for decorating the bed as well as wearing it.
