Flu shots, knitting with chop sticks and more...

Well yesterday afternoon I picked up the kiddo's from school, while Dad babysat Parker, and took Kristina, Olivia, Jolie and Hunter in to get the final H1N1 shot. We arrived 15 min's prior to our scheduled appt. time of 4 p.m. and got home at about 6:30. While at the Dr. office we watched while 2 people were taken by ambulance to the hospital with confirmed flu. Both were experiencing difficulty in breathing. Thankfully we were put in the "well" waiting area and not in the "sick" waiting area. So I feel relatively safe in the fact that my won't be getting sick in the near future. After our interminably long wait we were escorted to a room where I quickly gathered up all the kiddos threw them up on the exam table with thighs exposed and we waited for Roxanne to appear with shots in hand. Kristina chose to have hers in her upper arm. After all the shots were given we were finally headed home, in the dark with a full moon to escort us.

I can't remember where I wrote something about knitting with Chopsticks. I ran across a blog sometime back called, Knitting with Chopsticks, I believe. Anyway.... it made me wonder if you could actually do it. I couldn't see why not, so I finally got together a few sets of disposable chopsticks and I measured the two different styles that we have here. If you get the squared off top type (pictured here) then you have a size 10.5 to knit with. If you get the rounded type it will measure out at a size 8. Amazingly both are common sizes for knitting and quite frequently used in patterns. So the next time you order take out Chinese or Japanese get them to give you the chopsticks...
No pic's of Parker today. He did well last night. Today we removed his headphone and he's much happier. We can't see anything as he has a sponge type object in his ear canal to help absorb medication. But he's feeling no pain and is much sturdier on his feet. We're anxious for his first dr. visit on the 10th.
