Surprise! Surprise...
I had 3 kiddo's come home with exciting news.
Kristina has been selected to participate in the Academy District 20 Middle School Culinary Competition with her "Blue Cheese Apple Salad", this Thursday. The competition will be against 9 other students who were also picked for their recipes. The recipes are chosen for nutritional content, ease of preparation and its uniqueness. The final products will be judged by members of the Board of Education and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. All of the participants will receive a medal and chef's hat for competing. Each contestant will prepare their recipe with a Sodexo team member and a Sodexo chef. The judging will begin at 4 p.m. and the media has been invited. Obviously we're anxious for Thursday to come.
Parker came home with his very first "Rock Star" award. He's so proud! The "rock" is actually a geode that the kids get to hit with a hammer and see what it looks like inside. Parker received his award for demonstrating the following attitudes: Commitment, Empathy, Enthusiasm, Respect and Caring. The announcement for Rock Star is announced once weekly at the end of the day for the whole school to hear. We've heard Olivia's name, Jolie's name and now Parker's. Come on Hunter!
Hunter reached the top of the mountain today! Both of the Kindergarten class' have a mountain in their rooms that the students "name tags" climb with good behavior. Hunter, once again, reached the top of the mountain and got to pick a surprise from the treasure chest. He is very proud of his skate board key chain.
